WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Programmed has a great opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to support Project Logistics team with one of our large national clients located in Mayfield. This role is critical to managing the daily load-out of high-value project cargo with strict sequencing requirements that change frequently and sometimes at short notice. The supervisor will take full ownership of daily load sequencing and vendor coordination, as this accountability does not sit with forklift or transport providers.

Assignment Details:

  • Initial assignment: 2 months, with potential extension to 3 months total
  • Start: Immediate
  • Location: Mayfield, Newcastle (2 sites near each other)

Key responsibilities:

  • Run a daily pre-start meeting (approx. 5:30am start) with forklift drivers to align on the daily load plan
  • Liaise directly with the client on-site representative and respond to additional daily requirements
  • Take full ownership of load sequencing and ensure batches are loaded exactly as instructed
  • Oversee safe handling of high-value units, WHS compliance, PPE compliance and truck load restraint (including cross-chaining)
  • Manage real-time operational changes with, including breakdowns, cancellations and sequencing changes
  • Communicate any cost impacts or variations back to office
  • Coordinate daily bookings for labour, forklifts and cranes across both sites in line with customer-approved volumes
  • Agree labour requirements with the customer before confirming daily bookings


About you:

  • Strong warehouse or yard supervision experience, ideally within project, heavy or high-value cargo environments
  • Confident coordinating multiple vendors and managing real-time operational changes
  • Comfortable working in outdoor yard environments and starting early (approx. 5:30am)
  • Strong safety mindset and practical knowledge of load restraint and WHS compliance
  • Able to take ownership and make decisions on the ground with minimal disruption to the client
  • Dangerous goods experience ideal (but not essential)
